The owner and operator of Adventure Dynamics, Don Paterson, brings a wealth of experience from years working within the Outdoor Education and Adventure Tourism industries.

Don's passion for the outdoors and for teaching came together about 20 years ago. Since then, he has been teaching, leading and guiding in the outdoors of New Zealand, North America, India and Britain. He is highly regarded in the outdoor industry and has been involved with the development of many outdoor instructor qualifications that are available in New Zealand. Many current instructors have at some stage been trained or assessed by Don.

Don operates to the highest standards, which ensures that all the work he does is client focused, safe and follows current industry practice. Any Adventure Dynamics employees are also required to work to Don's high standards.

Don's qualifications include the highest New Zealand Outdoor Instructor's Association awards for Alpine, Rock, Kayak, Bush and Outdoor Safety Management. He is also an assessor for these awards.

Don has the New Zealand Raft Association's Senior Raft Guide on grade 4 & 5 qualification, and is registered as an assessor for the raft guide awards.

Don has had a long association with Unit Standards and is able to deliver and assess Outdoor Recreation units through the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.

Other associations are with Education Outdoors NZ, NZ Water Safety Council for the ACC RiverSafe programme and NZ Recreational Canoeing Association for River Rescue courses
